The league kicked off another season on September 29th. In the Open division, all 6 GMs have returned as have all 6 sponsors. The only changes are in the Masters division where Bill Moody has taken the helm as GM and Sponsor for GP Wealth. The two JBs, Jeff Bauer and Jeff Butterworth, have teamed up to share GM responsibilities for Fully Promoted.
The fact we have so many returning sponsors with others waiting to get in speaks volumes to the strength of the league as we approach 50 years in EG. What started out as a 4-team experiment to keep guys playing after Juvenile is now a 2-division, 12-team league.
Registration this year is as follows:
Open: $550
Masters: $600
Goalies: $450
E-transfers or cheques are the preferred method of payment. If sending an e-transfer, please use the league email address of [email protected] and include your name and team name in the message box.
The full payment is due now and the league appreciates those who have already made their payments. If you need some time, the league does require, at a minimum, half the balance paid by October 16th with the full balance due no later than November 20th. If payment has not been made, players may be suspended until paid in full.
It's mandatory for every member to e-sign an official CARHA waiver for insurance purposes.

A celebration of life was held for Mary on Saturday September 26 at the East Gwillimbury Sports Complex (Sharon Arena) in the Canada Hall. There would be no better place to honour Mary and share stories than at the rink! She has spent the last 40 years at what her husband, Steve, called her second home.
For decades, the league has counted on Mary to show up on Tuesdays to work the clock. She was a fixture in the EGIHL and will be sorely missed and fondly remembered for her dedication to our league. For those who also played in Newmarket and Aurora beer leagues, you likely saw her at the rink as her timekeeping skills were sought after by several leagues in York Region.
Mary made it easier for the league organizers as she was able to fill in names and numbers on the games sheets as she quickly learned the names for most of the guys in the league. And most of us knew her as well. For those that took the time to chat with Mary, you knew she had a sharp wit and an infectious laugh. It won't be the same without her.
Her husband, Steve, was a GM and player in the league for many years. And her children, Brittany and Brandon, picked up the timekeeping trade from Mom and we can only hope they continue to be part of our family.
Dave Carter has kindly created memorial stickers for each of our members. Please apply one to your helmet as we remember Mary for the many years she dedicated herself to our league.
